Steven Fred “Tater” Harris, 54, of Brownwood and formerly of Pear Valley, passed from this world to the next on Sunday, Nov. 18, 2018.

Steven was born Aug. 31, 1964 in Midland to Thomas Harold Harris and Violet Irene (Harris) Harris. He married Mary Ann (Sullivan) Goodenberger on Oct. 23, 2011 in Brady. Steven’s life was a life lived for others. A rare soul who would do anything for anyone, he was a protector, a man who loved his family fiercely and unconditionally, and his grand-babies’ treasured Poppa T.

A celebration of life for Steven Fred “Tater” Harris was held Saturday, Nov. 24 at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels in Brady with Reverend Gaylon Morris officiating. The family received friends prior to the service on Saturday at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels in Brady. Honorary Pallbearers were Tommy Harris, Michael Harris, Warren Harris, Teddy Harris, Bobby Joe Harris and Ethan Harris.

Tater is survived by his wife Mary Ann Harris of Brownwood; son, Ethan Cole Harris of Brady; daughters, Racheal Jacoby and husband Holden of Melvin, Lauren Jacoby and husband Reece of Melvin, and Jordan McGaha of Bangs; brothers, Tommy Harris and wife Bobbie of Brady, Michael Harris and wife Cathie of Brady, Warren Harris of San Saba, Teddy Harris and Jamie of Granbury, and Bobby Joe Harris of Lake Worth; and grandchildren, Heidi Frances Jacoby, Tripp Cason Grady and Hatley Marie McGaha.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Violet and Harold Harris; and his faithful companion Libby Dog.
