Don’t be ashamed to weep; ‘tis right to grieve. Tears are only water, and flowers, trees, and fruit cannot grow without water. But there must be sunlight also. A wounded heart will heal in time, and when it does, the memory and love of our lost ones is sealed inside to comfort us.

Schylet “Sky” Davis, 62, of Brownwood passed away Thursday, Dec. 6, 2018, at her residence.

A Celebration of Life for “Sky” will be held at 11a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12 at Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel with Bobby Machen officiating; private interment will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Schylet was born on Aug. 30, 1956, to Jackie D Hampton, Sr. and Jimmie Grace (Cearley) Hampton in Odessa. She attended Odessa High, where she was a member of the Brochettes (pep squad/ drill team). She graduated from Odessa High School in 1974. After high school she attended Odessa Junior College to peruse her interest in journalism; she was an avid writer.

Schylet moved to Brownwood in 1979, in her early 20s. She loved to water ski on Lake Brownwood in her younger days. Schylet was an avid gardener, culinary genius and music lover. But her greatest love were her two sons, Denny and Grant. Her favorite month was June for many reasons but the biggest was because her greatest blessings were both born in that month.

Schylet is survived by her sons Dennis Graham of Austin and Grant Templeton and his wife Chancey of Brownwood; her grandchildren, Nora Templeton and her upcoming “little man” due in 2019; and sisters, Susan (Hampton) Johns and Natalie Hampton both of Odessa. Schylet is also survived by a niece, Hampton Johns; along with numerous cousins and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and younger brother, Jackie D Hampton, Jr.

Online condolences for the family are welcome at
