FORT WORTH — Scott Kent Smith, 60, entered into Heaven on Friday, Jan. 25, 2019.

Scott was born in Fort Worth on Dec. 27, 1958, to N. Frank and Ann Smith. Scott from a young age was able to fulfill his passion in radio and started his career at KBWD in Brownwood at the young age of 13. Over the span of his career he worked at 15 radio stations and devoted a lot of time to various organizations including Doernbecher Children’s Hospital and St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Scott was incredibly kind and always gave 100 percent of himself in everything that he did. There won’t be a day that we won’t miss his witty sense of humor and infectious laugh.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Noah Frank and Ann Smith.

Scott was a loving husband to wife of 38 years, Kathy; the best father of Christopher Smith of Aurora, Colorado, Kristen (Kevin) Haney of Parker, Colorado, and Kaitlyn Smith of Nashville, Tennessee.; amazing grandpa of Knox Smith, Kinsley and Kennedy Haney; son-in-law of Jimmy and Della Simerly; beloved brother of Becky Ceniceros of Asheboro, North Carolina and Frank (Cindy) Smith Jr. of Fort Worth; uncle of Amber (Frits) Siesling, Collin Neal Doring of Greensboro, North Carolina, Jason (Julie) Smith of Forney, and Brad (Felicia) Smith of Dallas

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, 2019, in Greenwood Chapel, Fort Worth. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31 at the funeral home.
