Patricia Gray Senterfitt died on Jan. 30, 2019 at the age of 90 in Austin, from a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s.

Born in San Saba on March 17, 1928, Patricia graduated from San Saba High School and attended Southwestern University in Georgetown, where she was a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority. She was married on Oct. 3, 1959 to the Honorable Reuben E. Senterfitt, who served two terms as Speaker of the House of Representatives from 1951 to 1955. Patricia served for several terms on the San Saba City Council and was an Elder and Deacon in the First Presbyterian Church of San Saba where she also served on numerous committees. She was a tireless volunteer of the San Saba County EMS for 20 years and was deeply dedicated to her community and her friends. She was an avid bridge player most of her life. Patricia was a selflessly devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, aunt and friend. As the quintessential homemaker she had a fierce love for her home and her family.

She is survived by two sisters, Mary Gray Massie of Tuscon, Arizona and Suzy Gray Adams of Lubbock; sons, Jim Farley and wife Tracy Troost Farley of Lubbock, and Barry Senterfitt and wife Sarah Payne Senterfitt of Austin; and her daughters, Mimi Farley Bode and husband Richard Bode of San Saba and Diane Senterfitt and husband Geoff Weisbart of Austin; and Shirley Taube of Lafayette, Louisiana; 15 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and very dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Reuben Elmer Gray and Josephine Petty Gray; her husband of 54 years, Reuben E. Senterfitt; one sister, Juna Gray Oliver; and two step-children, Linda Senterfitt Kreger and Ronald Senterfitt.

Funeral services will be held oat 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2 at the First Presbyterian Church of San Saba, with internment following at the San Saba Cemetery.
