A graveside service for Polly Ann Parr, 81, of Austin and formerly Roswell, New Mexico and Lake Brownwood, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23 at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home in Early. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Polly Ann was born April 15, 1937 in Wellman to Tom and Alpine Emerson and was a 1955 graduate of Roswell High School. She married Kenneth Parr in Roswell, New Mexico on Aug. 8, 1964 and worked as a bookkeeper/accountant for Martin and Greenwade and then later for Hannifin Oil Company in Roswell. After retirement in 1989 Polly and Kenneth moved to North Lake Brownwood. In 2014 she moved to Austin to be with her daughter Tammera Parr-Lamb and husband Dean Lamb. Polly enjoyed spending time with her family and her beloved cat Calimity Jane. She was an avid reader, loved working crosswords and jigsaw puzzles.

Mrs. Parr passed away peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2019 in Austin at Christopher House, a beautiful and serene hospice facility, after a battle with cancer at the age of eighty one.

Survivors include her daughter, Tammera Parr-Lamb and husband Dean of Austin.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a brother, Bill Emerson.
