GOLDTHWAITE — Graveside services for N.M. Coats, 94, of Goldthwaite, will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 5 at Oakwood Cemetery in Cisco. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home in Goldthwaite.

He passed away Saturday, March 2, 2019 in Hamilton.

He was born Dec. 24, 1924 in Dothan to Joe Blueford Coats and Iva Pippen Coats. He married Margaret Ruth Roach on March 20, 1946 in Brownwood. He served in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific during World War II.

Survivors include children and their spouses Craig Coats and Melody of Lampasas, and Melissa Peavey and Don of Richardson; grandchildren and their spouses, Cliff Coats and Lydia of Round Rock, and Laura Peavey of Washington, D.C.; great-grandchildren, Conall Coats and Grayson Coats of Round Rock; and sister, Patricia King of North Richland Hills.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Blueford Coats and Iva Pippen Coats: his wife, Margaret Ruth Roach Coats; his sister, Angeline McDonald; and his daughter-in-law, Gail Coats.
