BRADY — Funeral services for Dayton Lee Boren, 92, of Brady, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 6 at First United Methodist Church in Brady. Burial of cremated remains take place at Rest Haven Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 5 at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels.
He died Saturday, March 30, 2019 in Brownwood.
He was born June 5, 1926 in Burnet County, near Lampasas, to Lee Roy Boren and Lois (Parker) Boren. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Boren of Brady; daughters, Susan Janes and husband Ralph of Marble Falls, Vickie Kelley and husband Troy of Salado, Gayla Heberling and husband Mike of Fort Worth; sisters,Vada Duncan of Indian Creek, Joyce Houser of Odessa; grandchildren, Whitney Sharp and husband Jason of Spring, Brian Etchison and wife Amy of Lubbock, Cortney Morey and husband Matt of Dayton, Ohio , Jason Janes and wife Caroline of Lubbock, Jennifer Anderson and husband Elias of Driftwood; great-grandchildren, Skyler Sharp and Sabrina Sharp of Spring, Ava Morey and Tessa Morey of Dayton, Ohio, Lockhart Anderson, Eli Anderson, Utah Anderson and Harper Anderson of Driftwood, Annabella Etchison, Asher Etchison of Lubbock, Jackson Janes, Joshua Janes , Jacob Janes and Joseph Janes of Lubbock; niece, Annette Burkman of Indian Creek; and nephews, Johnnie Houser and wife Tanya of Odessa, Clem Howard III and wife Judy of Sweetwater, Michael Howard and Billy Howard of Sweetwater.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law, Taylor Duncan of Indian Creek, Johnny Houser, Sr. of Odessa, Clem Howard, Jr. of Sweetwater and Richard Monroe of Mineral Wells; sister-in-law, Sarita Howard Monroe of Mineral Wells; niece, Karla Houser Bird of Odessa; and nephews, Mackie Houser of Odessa and Glenn Burkman of Indian Creek.
