Paula LaVaughn Sliger, of Brownwood, passed away peacefully Friday, April 12, 2019, at the age of 84.

Funeral services for Paula will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 17 at Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tim Skaggs officiating. Burial will follow at Board Church Cemetery in Comanche County. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 16 at Blaylock Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Paula was born on Feb. 9, 1935, to Jess Lee Sliger and Margaret Elizabeth (Hasting) Sliger in Comanche.

Paula had a servant’s heart, who loved helping people. She was a caregiver and CNA for most of her adult life. Paula was a life-long member at Coggin Ave Baptist Church. She taught Sunday school and served as the Director of Special Ministries for a number of years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jess and Margaret Sliger; two brothers, T.J. and Dean Sliger; two nephews, Tommy and Jerry Sliger; and a great-niece, Tonya Sliger.

Paula is survived by two God-daughters, Lorin Eaves and Simona Williams; two nephews, Cullen Sliger and wife Kim, James Sliger and wife Lee; two great-nieces, Tracy Sliger Sutton and Sherry Sliger Scott; and great-nephew, Kevin Sliger. She is also survived by numerous other great-great-nieces and nephews and other relatives.
