Funeral services for Maxine Spivey, 101, of Brownwood, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 26 at Heartland Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 25 at the funeral home.

She passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 in a San Saba nursing facility.

She was born in Mullin to Joseph and Verna (Stebbins) Williams on Sept. 19, 1917. She married Edgar Lee Spivey.

Survivors include son, Eddie Carl Spivey of Brownwood; daughter, Cheryl Staggs and husband Tommy of Hewitt; nine grandchildren, Jeff Spivey, Debbie Henderson, Michael Evans, Jody Burns, Tony Evans, Alicia Kelley, Tonya Staggs, Terry Staggs and Amber King; 18 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren, including Diamond Carraway.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Gloria Jean Evans; a granddaughter, Lisa Collier; a great-grandson, Norman Clayton Jr.; a sister, Lally Dillion; and two brothers, Joe Williams and Carl Williams.
