Joseph Wayne Hudson, 53, of Brownwood entered into heaven on April 27, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 1 at Greenleaf Cemetery. Heartland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 30 at Heartland Funeral Home.
He was the first born son to Woodrow Wayne and Nancy Jo (Rogers) Hudson, being born on July 16, 1965 in Casper, Wyoming. The family moved to Brownwood in May 1967 where Joey lived all of his life and graduated from Brownwood Senior High School in 1985. He started working for Section Hand Steakhouse at the age of 16 and continued working there for 36 years up to his illness. On June 21, 1991 Joey married Rebecca Elizabeth McCullough.
Joey was very quick witted and funny, he loved to make people laugh. He loved fishing, fast cars and women. His generosity and caring nature were evident in his life, he would help anyone! He loved his family, his mama and all his nieces and nephews like they were his own. Joey was never afraid to tell you that he loved you! He worked hard, played harder and loved spending time with his best friend Vic Hudson.
Joey is survived by his parents, Wayne and Nancy Hudson; brother, Steve Victor Hudson and nephew Steven Paul Hudson; sisters, Leah Graf and husband Brian, Christina Renee Hetzel and husband Robert; Megan Bowersox and husband Daniel; numerous nieces and nephews, Sara, Ava, Adam, Amber, Jonathan, Summer, Nathaniel, Benjamin and Ruby.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Tex Hudson and Naomi Trent; maternal grandparents, John and Emma Rogers; aunt, Wanday Fantry; and sister-in-law, Therese Hudson.
