L.G. Morris, 97, of Brownwood passed away Monday, April 29, 2019 at Care, Inc..

He was born Aug. 28, 1921 in Romney, the son of S.R. and Pearl L. Toler Morris. He served in the U.S. Army and later married Bernice Long in Brownwood on Nov. 27, 1954. He had been a resident of Brownwood since 1953 and worked as a typesetter and photographer for the Brownwood Bulletin for over 40 years. He had been a faithful member of the Early First United Methodist Church for many years. He was a member of Masonic Lodge # 279.

He is survived by his daughter, Rosanne Pittman and husband Jerry of Owens and a granddaughter, Debbie Pittman of Owens; two great-grandsons, Derrick Stephenson and wife Melissa of Paradise, and Cooper Stephenson and wife Mandi of Ennis; six great-great grandsons, Chaydon, Cutter, Korsten, Dylan, Rylan, and Gunner Stephenson; and a great-great granddaughter, Sailer Rose Stephenson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two granddaughters, Jerry Anne and Sheryl Pittman; a grandson, Dustin Pittman; and a sister, Maxine Shelton.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, May 2 at Eastlawn Memorial Park with Bro. Bill Slaymaker officiating. Family visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 1 at Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
