Willie Mae Edmondson was born on March 22, 1917 in Locker to Will and Ernie (Lemons) Edmondson in San Saba County. She married Loyd Locker on Dec. 9, 1933 in San Saba. Willie Mae was a business partner with her husband in their farming and ranching business in the Spring Creek Community in northern San Saba County. She loved the outdoors. When not working with her husband, she worked in her yard or was hunting or fishing. Her yard was a “botanical garden” and she definitely has a green thumb for tomatoes and blackberries. She was a great storyteller and had many stories for her grandchildren. For 96 years, Willie Mae lived within a mile of where she was born before moving to Brownwood in 2013. Willie Mae was a great cook and was well known for her chess pie, peach cobbler and wild plum jelly. She was a member of the San Saba Church of Christ and the Austin Avenue Church of Christ in Brownwood.
Willie Mae is survived by a daughter, Brenda Gayle Walker and husband Jim; six grandchildren, Pennissi Taylor-Morris and husband Scot, Marci Reagan and husband Ryan, Chad Walker and wife Mandy, Tyler Reynolds and wife Emily; six great-grandchildren, Paetra LaFleur and husband Matt, Parker Taylor and wife Mikka, Rae Lee Taylor, Rylan, Caden and Hudson Reagan, Landry, Cobe and Drew Walker, Declan Reynolds, Jakob, Avery and Luke Morris; great-great-grandchildren, Jocelyn and Jace La Fleur, Rowdee Gregory, Rylee Gregory and Micaela; and a son-in-law, Randy Reynolds.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Loyd; a daughter, Bobbie Reynolds; and a grandson, Jeremy Patrick.
