Harold “Scooter” Cain, age 79, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2019, at Care Nursing and Rehabilitation in Early.
Harold was born on July 5, 1939, to Columbus P. and Flora Mae (Carlton) Cain in Temple. Harold was a long-time resident of Brownwood. He graduated from Temple High School in 1959. Upon graduating, he began his long career with the Santa Fe Railroad as a brakemen and conductor. He loved putting together jigsaw puzzles, his trips to the mountains, and adored his dogs.
Harold is survived by his brother, Wilford Cain and wife Jonny of The Woodlands; sons, Randy Cain and wife Kim of Fort Myers, Florida, Dennis Cain and wife Melissa of Rockwall, Scott Cain and wife Tanya of Magnolia; five grandchildren, Alec and Taylor Cain of Fort Myers, Landon Cain and wife Lisel, Austin Cain and wife Stevie, and Morgan Cain all of Rockwall; and two great-grandsons, Emerson and Liam also of Rockwall.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nedra Cain; his parents, Columbus P. and Flora Mae; brothers, Delton, Roy, James “Cotton” Cain; and a sister, Gussie Stone.
Visitation for Harold will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, at Blaylock Funeral Home. Private family graveside services will be at the Heflin Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.
