Jerry Bob “J.B.” Taylor, 84, of Brownwood passed away Monday, July 15, 2019, at a local nursing home.

A Celebration of Life for J.B. will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10 at Coggin Avenue Baptist Church with Dr. David Nowell officiating. A visitation will be held after the service from 2-4 p.m. at the Coggin Connection Center. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

J.B. was born to Bob and Mildred Taylor on Jan. 24, 1935, in Brownwood.

J.B. is survived by his loving wife, Audrey Laverne Taylor of Brownwood; daughter, Lori Hurt and husband Doug of Brownwood; two grandsons, J.T. Hurt and wife Megan of Jerome, Idaho, and Taylor Hurt of Brownwood; great-granddaughter, Bexlie Grace Hurt of Jerome, Idaho; special family friend, Laiken Regan of Blanket; sister, Jo Ann Ricker of San Angelo; nephews, Bruce Franke and wife Stacie of San Angelo, Todd Franke and wife Shaunna of Brownwood; and niece, Brigette Schroeder and husband Ross of Christoval. He is also survived by a host of other family members and friends who he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his son, Stephen Taylor.

We rejoice in the life of a man who undoubtedly trusted in the finished work of Christ for his salvation and gave his life over to ministry. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14

In J.B.’s words to J.T. the last time they saw each other, “When I go, don’t weep; rejoice!!!!!”
