Jane Darlene Sliger, 78, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2019. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14 at Haven of Hope Church in Brownwood. Inurnment will be at Bangs Cemetery.

Jane was born Tuesday, June 24, 1941 in Loma Linda, California. She attended school in Bangs. Jane married Adam Sliger on March 6, 1962 and began a life together that blessed them with five children. Her children and grandchildren knew her as Meemaw. She loved playing games like bingo and dominoes with her other family at Brownwood Retirement Village. But most of all Meemaw loved to spend time with her grandkids and great grandkids.

She is survived by her sons, Johnny Grice and wife Ina of Early, and Randy Sliger of Abilene; daughters, Bennetta Lawson and husband Tony, Sandra Lawson and husband Charles, all of Brownwood; daughter by love, Chrissy Dawson and husband Eddie of Early; brother, Johnny Rust and wife Shirlie of Rhome; sister, Bennetta Walkins and husband Steve of Hobbs, New Mexico; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Adam Sliger; parents, William and Alice Rust; twin sister, Jean Johnston; daughter, Janice Grice; and brothers, Robert and James Rust.
