Dorothy “Momma D” Jo (Polvado) DuPree, 87, of Early passed away on Sunday, Nov. 10, 2019. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17 at the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel.
Momma D was born July 5, 1932 in San Saba to Otha Carl and Audrey Polvado.  Dorothy lived in Lamesa and Hobbs before returning to the area with her family.  She graduated from Brookesmith ISD.  Dorothy married JW “Corky” DuPree June 7, 1972.  She earned the name “Momma D” from her grandchildren, whom she loved spoiling.  She worked at Howard Payne University when she retired and loved spending time taking care of others.  Momma D was an amazing cook and was passionate about preparing meals for everyone.  She loved being involved with her children, grandkids, and their friends.  She was happiest when the entire family was all together.
Momma D is survived by her daughter, Sabrina and husband Richard Clinage of Atlanta, Georgia; son, Chad and wife Kimberly DuPree of Early; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Momma D was preceded in death by her husband, JW “Corky” DuPree; son, Gary P. Woods; daughters, Paula Kay Woods, and Pamela Fay Woods; her parents, Otha Carl Polvado and Audrey Baker; and a sister, Laverne Swingle.
