James Schumann, 72, of Brownwood, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2019.
A funeral service for James will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19 at Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel with Brian Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Greenleaf Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday. Nov. 18 at Blaylock Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.
James was born on Aug. 25, 1947, to Rudolf and Louise (Sewell) Schumann in San Angelo, and grew up in Indian Gap. James loved playing dominoes and Bingo at the VFW and The Vicksburg with his friends. He loved this time of year because he could pick pecans, which he enjoyed doing.
James is survived by his three sisters, Mildred Becker and husband Wayne of Dallas, Lucy Johnson of Brownwood, and Zana Byrd and husband Jim of Brownwood. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and several friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolf and Louise Schumann; one brother, Carl Schumann; two sisters, Nelda Bishop and Brenda Little; a nephew, Dolph Tiner; a niece, Rhonda Powell; and brothers-in-law, Kenneth Infinger, Monroe Johnson, and Dennis Tiner.
