George F. Allison of Early passed away on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019, while playing music on stage at the Pearl Bluegrass Jam in Pearl, Texas. George was a local singer/songwriter who often played at the Gatesville Opry, Cottonwood, Lions Club dances, and in venues across the U.S., Scotland, Ireland, and England.

George attended Brownwood schools and graduated from Early High School. He attended Howard Payne University and was a MacArthur Academy of Freedom student before serving in the United States Navy in Vietnam on the U.S.S. O’Brien, the first U.S. ship hit during the war. George enjoyed working with electronics and worked at General Telephone (GTE) for eleven years. He was owner/operator of Home Satellite in Early.

George was preceded in death by his mother, Lois Robbins Allison; sister, Delores Mullins Morris; step-father, C. F. Allison; and cousins, Bobby Mullins and Gerald Andrew Mullins.

George is survived by his wife, Barbara Allison and two daughters, Kimberly DeLozier and Shelly Buchkowski, and four grandchildren, Zoe DeLozier, Max DeLozier, Drew Buchkowski, and Celeste Buchkowski all of Early; his half-brothers, Ronnie Mullins and Olen Northam; half-sisters, Neta Mullins and Cheryl Allison; aunt, Dorothy Allison; cousins, Edda Mullins Ratliff and husband, Gaylin, Gerald Mullins, and Gloria Mullins Alderson, Jay Allison and wife, Jenny, Kit Daniels, as well as other cousins, nieces, and nephews.
