Phillip Richard Yazell, 71, passed away at home with his family by his side on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2019. A visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4 at Heartland Funeral Home in Early.

Phillip was born Saturday, Aug. 14, 1948 in Brownwood to Herschal and Roylynn Yazell. He married Cindy Renfroe on Jan. 13, 1968 and began a life together that blessed them with two children. Phil was an oil and gas producer for over 40 years. He enjoyed fishing and gold panning with his best friend, Steve Glass. But most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by the love of his life, Cindy Renfroe; son, Randy Yazell of Brownwood; daughter, Jenny Yazell of Brownwood; three grandsons, Trevor Yazell of Blackburg, Virginia, Parker Jackson of Wichita Falls, and Brayden Yazell of Brownwood; a granddaughter, Maddison Yazell of Brownwood; and his great-granddog Bear.

Phillip was preceded in death by his parents, Herschal Yazell and Roylynn Neal; one brother, Gary “Gray Beard” Yazell; and best friend, Steve Glass.
