Robert W. Davenport Sr. of Brownwood passed away April 13, 2020. A long-time resident of Brownwood, he was born Oct. 24, 1925 in Spur to W.O. and Gertrude Davenport. One of seven children, he joined the Army in WWII and served in the Phillipines, and later Korea.

He worked for many years in pipeline construction, the hardware business in Comanche and the Brownwood office of HUD.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Myrtle; three sisters; and two brothers.

He is survived by his youngest sister, Linda Davenport of Livingston; son, Robert and wife Diana of Plano; grandson, Lt. Col. R. T. Davenport and wife Elizabeth; great-grandchildren, Michael and Kayleigh of Kaiserslautern, Germany; and many nieces, nephews and spectacular friends.
