Warren Wayne Crump, age 61, of Silver Spring, Md., formerly of Brownwood, died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007 in Maryland.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2007, at Heartland Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. this evening, at Heartland Funeral Home.

Wayne Crump was born May 20, 1946, in Brownwood, Texas, the son of Ocie and Reva Crump of Brownwood. Wayne was a 1964 graduate of Brownwood High School, graduate of University of Texas, received his masters from Abilene Christian University and his PhD from Princeton Seminary. He served in the U. S. Navy aboard the USS Denver from 1968 - 1970 as a radar technician. He was minister at, 16th and Decatur church of Christ in Washington, D.C., for 26 years and formerly a member of the Austin Avenue church of Christ in Brownwood.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, in Washington, D.C., at the 16th and Decatur church of Christ. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.

Survivors include, his beloved wife, Donnis Crump of Silver Spring, Md.; sons, Joel and Evan Crump of Silver Spring, Md; mother, Reva Crump of Brownwood; brother, David “Jed” Crump and wife Alma of Houston; sister, Janice Bezanson and husband Stephen of Austin; and nephew, David Bezanson of Austin.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ocie Crump.
