COLEMAN - Julian Ramirez, age 83, of Coleman died Monday, Aug. 1, 2011, at Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo. Rosary services will be held at 7 p.m. today at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel. Celebration of Mass of Christian Burial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Coleman City Cemetery, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman.
Julian was born Aug. 17, 1927, a son of the late Jose Ramirez and Christina Rosales Ramirez. He was raised in Coleman County where he attended school in Burkett and Coleman. Julian served in the United States Army during World War II. After the war, Julian returned to Coleman. He was married to Hilda Iruegas on Nov. 27, 1948, in Coleman. Julian was a service man at Taylor Motor Company for many years and then was employed at Williams Tire in Coleman. Julian was a life long resident of Coleman County. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where he served as Lector, the Holy Name Society, and was a Crusillista. He was a member of the Coleman Senior Center.
Julian is survived by his wife, Hilda of San Angelo; one daughter, Mary Alice Kotasek of San Angelo; one son, Joe Henry Ramirez of San Angelo; two sisters, Dora Calk of Coleman, and Carmen Trinidad of Grand Prairie; three brothers, Isabel Ramirez of San Antonio, Nicholas Ramirez of Abilene, and Ramiro Ramirez of Coleman; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by one sister, Esperanza Diaz and two brothers, Rodolfo Ramirez and Lucio Ramirez.
Family visitation will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 W. Pecan Street, Coleman, Texas.
