BRADY — Funeral services for Benito Rubio, 75, of Brady will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Brady with Father George Thirumangalam officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Rosary was at 7 p.m. Monday at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels.

He died Friday, Jan. 26, 2007, in Brownwood.

He was born March 21, 1931, in Staples, to Julio N. and Catalina (Espinoza) Rubio. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, and was a longtime resident of the area. He owned and operated A&B Electric in Brady from 1972 until he retired in 2006. He was married to Angelina Aguirre on June 24, 1956, in Brady. He was a member of VFW Post No. 3234 in Brady and served as vice-commander for several years. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club.

Survivors include his wife, Angelia Rubio of Brady; two sons, Orlando Rubio of Brady and George Rubio of Las Vegas, Nev.; three daughters, Lina Rubio of Austin, Clara Dominguez and husband Julio of Hope Mills, N.C., and Vanessa Jones and husband Jimmy of Austin; three sisters, Ramona Villanueva of Fort Worth, Mary Gutierrez of San Antonio and Pauline Yanes and husband Joe of Haltom City; and 13 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Mercedes Gutierrez.
