COMANCHE — Funeral services for B.J. Levens, 73, of Comanche will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 18, at Comanche Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harold Higginbotham officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Comanche. Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. today at Comanche Funeral Home. Lunch will be held at noon Sunday at family home, 1009 N. Barnes St., Comanche.
He died Friday, April 16, 2010, at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 18, 1936, in Rawls to Jack Levens and Blanche (Sherrod) Levens. He was married to Corynne Benton on Nov. 19, 1955, in Flatwood Community, Eastland County.
Survivors include his wife, Corynne Levens of Comanche; daughters, Sheila Hicks and husband Danny of Andrews, Shari Evans and husband Tony of Gustine, and Kerri Montgomery and husband Robert of Hasse; sons, Phillip Levens and wife Linda of Beattie and Larry Levens of Comanche; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Jimmy Levens and wife Arlene of Fort Worth; sister, Becke Levens of Monroe, Ga.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Levens; and two sisters, Wanda and Janet.
