Hoyt Mills, age 74, of Brownwood, Texas, born Jan. 17, 1933, passed away Aug. 11, 2007, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Hoyt was a member of the Brownwood VFW and he served proudly and with honor, fighting in both the Korean and Vietnam wars. He retired from the United States Air Force in August of 1969 after serving 20 years.
He is survived by son, Doyle Mills of Garland, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Vanessa and Mike Bishop of Brownwood; and four grandchildren, Josh Mills, Rachael Bishop, Stacey Bishop and Tracy Bishop. He is also survived by three brothers, Tyson Mills, Tommy Mills, Jerry Mills; and one sister, Arlene Barkett.
He was preceded in death by his son, Hoyt Mills Jr. (Pete); identical twin brother Doyle Mills; parents, Elmer and Bessie Burson; and siblings, Carl Jameason, Jaunita Crosby, Charles Mills, Wyman Burson, Wendell Burson and Sallie Sparks (Sis).
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, at Greenleaf Cemetery.
The family and children would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Girling Hospice and a special thank you to Danika Sumner who provided comfort and guidance during the last hours.
