Funeral services for Linda Jean Scott, age 57, of Coleman, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2007, at the Netherton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ellis Villareal and the Rev. Paul Stevens officiating. Interment will follow in Greenleaf Cemetery, under the direction of Netherton Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at Netherton Funeral Home.

She passed away Saturday morning at a local nursing home.

Linda was born Oct. 22, 1949, in Dallas, Texas the daughter of the late Lonnie Lewis and Dorothy Blakes.

She had been a resident of Coleman since 2006, formerly of Dallas. She professed her belief at an early age and was a member of the Lovers Leap Church in Waco.

She is survived by five sons, Richard Houff and Rickey Houff of Arlington, James Houff of Brownwood, Ephram Sims of Cedar Hill and David Hood of Arlington; three sisters, Brenda Williams and husband, Robert, of Brownwood, Ebony Lewis of Arkansas and Theodora Lewis of San Francisco, California; three brothers, Dwight Allen of Coleman, Larry Allen and wife, Catherine, of Bangs and Leslie Adams of Wisconsin; 20 grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and relatives; and special friends, Ephram Sims of Austin and Herlene Thomas of Coleman.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother and step-father.
