Funeral services for Merlene Mae Hohertz, age 71, of Brownwood, will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007, in the Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Slaymaker officiating. Interment will follow in Greenleaf Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Morris Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

She passed away Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007.

Merlene was born in Priddy on Jan. 19, 1936, the second child of Alfred Walter and Melinda Kuklies Hohertz. She married Clyde E. Graham Jr. of Brownwood on Nov. 2, 1952. They raised three children together until their divorce in 1986. Merlene was a homemaker, but also worked in retail sales for many years at TG&Y and Thorntonís.

Merlene is survived by her oldest daughter, Loretta Graham Silvus and her husband Paul of Brownwood; her second daughter, Sondria Graham Odom of Saginaw; a son, Clyde E. Graham III of Saginaw; one granddaughter, Amanda Nicole Odom of Saginaw; a brother and sister-in-law, Henry and Ann Hohertz of Zephyr; a niece, Raequel Little of Bryan; and a nephew, Brian Hohertz of Little Rock, Ark.

Merlene was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Melinda Hohertz; her older sister, Oletha Cole Bahneman; and her infant grandson, James Robert Graham.
