Funeral services for Nina Hardin Brubaker, 95, of Brownwood, will be held at 2 p.m. Feb. 2, 2007, at Church of Christ at 4th and Stewart with Paul McClung and Daniel Haynes officiating. Interment will follow at Greenleaf Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Davis-Morris Funeral Home.

She passed away Monday, Jan. 29, 2007.

She was born July 19, 1911, to Roger L. and Eva C. (Smith) Hardin in Corsicana. On April 15, 1927, she married Herman Raymond Brubaker in Brownwood. She was a member of the Church of Christ at 4th and Stewart. A lifetime resident of Brownwood and devoted homemaker, she was “Mama” to everybody and loved kids. She was big on giving gum out to the children at church and so they came to expect it.

She also raised three of her grandchildren, several foster children, and helped to care for a host of nieces and nephews.

Survivors include five children, Rayford Brubaker and wife Gwen of Kerrville, Wanda Bryan of Bastrop, La., Peggy Chism and husband Billy of Brownwood, Darlene Smith and husband Don of Blanket and Randy Brubaker of Brownwood; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren; three step-great-great grandchildren; one sister, Ethel Adams; and one sister-in-law, Gladys Traylor.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Raymond Brubaker; her parents, Roger L. and Eva C. (Smith) Hardin; brother, Presley Hardin, sisters Bessie Bannister and Lucille and Pauline Moore; granddaughter, Marla Brubaker; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and one son-in-law.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Belize Kindergarten or San Pedro Building Fund, in care of the Church of Christ on 4th and Stewart, 3201 Fourth St., Brownwood TX 76801.
