Geneva Mae Evans, 92, of Midland, Texas, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 30, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2008, in the Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Brownwood with Dr. Rick Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenleaf Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Morris Funeral Home.

Geneva was born May 10, 1916, in Brownwood, Texas, to the late Henry and Effie Nieman. She married Neil Evans on Christmas Day 1940. Neil preceded her in death on June 21, 1961. Geneva graduated from Howard Payne University with her B.S in Education. She taught second grade for 18 years in San Angelo, Texas.

Geneva was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a strong Christian woman who loved her Lord and exemplified His character.

Geneva is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jeannine and Clyde McKimmey; her son-in-law, Jim Masonhall of Cypress, Texas; four grandchildren, Todd McKimmey and his wife Annie-Marie of Tulsa, Okla., Elisa Adams of Houston, Drew McKimmey of Dallas, and Erika Masonhall of Washington, D.C.; one great-granddaughter, Samantha McKimmey of Tulsa; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her daughter, Janis Evans Masonhall.

A special thank you to Jolene and Henry Patke and the staff at the Red Rose Christian Home who have provided Geneva with love and care for the past twenty months and to Hospice of Midland who provided excellent medical care, encouragement and love.
