COLEMAN - Funeral services for Joe T. ‘Dody’ Orosco, 62, of Coleman, are set for 11 a.m., Monday, July 21, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Steve Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
A prayer service will be 6 p.m. Sunday, July 20, at the funeral home chapel. Visitation will follow afterwards.
He died Thursday, July 17, 2008, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 22, 1945, in Concho County, the son of Ben Tura Orosco and Josefine Tavarez Orosco. He grew up in Doole and attended schools in Doole, Melvin, Paint Rock and Millersview. He married Senada Guerrero in 1968 in Brady. He was a farmer and moved to Coleman in 1999 from Doole. He was Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Senada Orosco of Coleman; two daughters, Teresa Guillen of Jewett and Lupe Martinez of Ballinger; two sons, Bentura Orosco of Idaho, Raymond Orosco of North Carolina; two sisters, Joanna Rendia and Elida Gonzalez, both of Snyder; four brothers, Ricky Orosco, Raymond Orosco, Fernando Orosco and Benjamin Orosco, all of Snyder; 10 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Cathy Ann Guillen on Jan. 19, 2005.
