Funeral services for Raymond Halbert Pool will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007, in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Enda Hill Cemetery in Erath County. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Mr. Pool was born July 6, 1917, in Eldorado, Okla., to Roy and Leta Blair Pool He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Early, Texas. He served his country in the Army/Air Force during World War II. He was the owner and operator of Rendezvous Restaurant in Midland, Texas, and Ray Pools Drive In at Dimmitt, Texas. He lated moved to Brownwood in 1971 and operated Davenport’s Barber and Beauty Supply. Ray’s hobbies included woodworking, cattle ranching and gardening with a special love of growing trees.

He is also survived by his wife, Faye Pool of Early, Texas; one son and wife, Mac and Lu Jo Churchill of Fort Worth, Texas; two grandsons, Kent and Amy Churchill of Fort Worth and Will Churchill of Fort Worth; and one granddaughter, Corrie Churchill of Fort Worth. He is also survived by one stepson, Ronnie Landes of Early, Texas.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents.
