Ernest Eugene Pallette, age 73, of May, Texas, died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2007, at Heartland Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Amity Cemetery in Comanche County. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 6, 2007, at Heartland Funeral Home.

Ernest Eugene Pallette was born Jan. 16, 1934, in Blanket, Texas, the son of the late A.C. and Opal Fisher Pallette. He served in the United States Air Force retiring in 1973 as a Senior Master Sergeant. He was a training supervisor and worked with aircraft and OJT and trained pilots in safety. He fought in several wars and was stationed all over the world.

He married Vella Henry in May, Texas, on Dec. 26, 1953. After retiring they made their home in May. Eugene was a member of May First United Methodist Church where he had served on several church boards. He was a former board member of the Comanche County Co-Op, and had served on the boards of the May Cemetery Association and the Amity Cemetery Association. He was also active in the May Neighborhood Watch Association

Survivors include his wife, Vella Rae Pallette of May; daughters, Cindy Wood of May and Beth Johnson of Stanley, N.C.; grandchildren, Chris Wood and wife Phat of Little Elm, Bo Wood of May, Morgan Creig of Stanley, N.C., and Julie Howard of Charlotte, N.C.; great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Ayran Creig of Stanley, N.C.; sister-in-law, Earla Pallette of May; and nephew, Tim Palette and wife Holly and son, Ethan.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Troy Pallette.
