Memorial services for Shelley Dempsey, 28, of Breckenridge, formerly of Elm Grove, will be at 2 p.m. today at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Brownwood, with Father Andrew Bradley officiating and Dennis Helbert assisting.
Howell-Doran Funeral Home in San Saba is in charge of arrangements.
She died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2007, in Breckenridge.
She was born March 22, 1979, in Houston, the daughter of John Dempsey and Leslie Sample Dempsey. She graduated from Richland Springs High School in May 1997 and attended Angelo State University. She graduated from Howard Payne University in 2004 with a degree in education. She attended the Church of the Good Shepherd in Brownwood.
Survivors include her mother, Leslie Dempsey of Breckenridge; one daughter, Abigail Welch of Breckenridge; one son, Levi Welch of Breckenridge; three brothers, Jacob Dempsey of Alpine, Nathan Dempsey of San Angelo and Jeremiah Ramirez-Dempsey of Austin; an uncle, Jim Dempsey and his wife Lee of Oklahoma; her step-maternal grandmother, Bonnie Valliant of Richardson; and paternal grandparents, J.C. and Johnnie Dempsey of San Angelo.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Dempsey; and maternal grandparents, Nolan and Frances Sample.
The family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
