Margaret “Margie” Cardenas Perez, 56, of Brownwood, passed away Wednesday Aug. 8, 2007, at her residence.
A lifetime resident of Brownwood, she was a 25-plus year employee of Kohler. She was born July 20, 1951, to Aristeo and Herminia Cardenas. She married Julio Perez on Feb. 3, 1973. She was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt, and was known and loved by many and will be missed by all.
She is survived by two daughters, Lisa Villarreal of Brownwood and Lydia Frerichs and her husband, Brian, of Brownwood; five grandchildren, Gabriella, Veronica and Francisco Villarreal, and Bianca and Aiden Frerichs; three brothers, Ramon Cardenas and wife, Elva, of Brownwood, Reyes Cardenas and wife, Maria, of Arlington, and Rudy Cardenas and wife, Arcina, of Irving; two sisters, Yolanda Bernal and husband, Jesus, of Bangs, and Josie Contreras and husband, Gilbert, of Early; 16 nieces and nephews; and 13 great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a niece, Angelica Yasalet Cardenas; great-nephew, Jesus Andres Bernal; maternal grandparents, Cecilio and Josefa DelaRosa of Santa Anna; and paternal grandparents, Jose and Elvira Cardenas of Brownwood.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Philip McNamara officiating.
Interment will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Park.
A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. Saturday at Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
