CISCO — Thomas “Tom” Sinclair Wolford, 55, of Abilene, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. His funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 31, in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Highway 277 South. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. in the Oakwood Cemetery in Cisco. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7:30 p.m. today at Elmwood Funeral Home.

Tom was born on Sept. 10, 1953, to Eileen and James Wolford in Kenton, Ohio, and graduated from high school in Hicksville, Ohio. He was married to Tammy Castleberry in Abilene.

He worked for the Abilene State School, Denver Housing Authority, Abtex Beverage, and was employed with Ben E. Keith as a route driver at the time of his death.

Tom enjoyed deep sea fishing, cooking for his family and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He took great pride in caring for his home and yard and had impeccable organizational skills, often following behind Tammy fixing things. He had a witty sense of humor and created a lot of laughs and smiles.

Survivors include his wife, Tammy Wolford; three daughters, Shauna Hernandez and husband Patrick of Colorado City, Christina Wolford of Fort Worth and Natashia Wolford of Abilene; one son, Nathaniel Hawkins of New Braunfels; six grandchildren, Dylan Martinez, Ivan Hernandez, Isaac Garza, Caitlyn Garza, Kashlyn Hawkins and Camreigh Wilson; two sisters, Phyllis Hadley (Gene) of Bourbonnais, Ill., and Pat Womochil (Jerry) of Broomfield, Colo.; one brother, Mike Wolford (Lolita) of Las Vegas, Nev.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family would like to thank Dr. Carolyn Aks and Hendrick Hospice Care for the special care given to Tom.
