Clayton Coston, 70, of Brownwood, died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007.

Funeral services for Clayton, under the direction of Davis-Morris Funeral Home, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 1, 2007, at Coggin Avenue Baptist Church with Bill Allen and Rick Cavitt officiating.

Interment will be about 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Murphree Cemetery located near Evant, Texas.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, at Davis-Morris Funeral Home.

Mr. Coston was born Sept. 2, 1937, in Evant, Texas, to Clyde and Willie Mae (Siles) Coston. On Sept. 11, 1958, he and Betty Grimes were married in Denver City, Texas. Professionally, he was employed by the ARCO Oil and Gas Co. as a materials supervisor and worked throughout Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Africa and other foreign countries.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Coston; son, Clay Coston; daughter, Debbie Shelburne and husband, Kevin, of Midland; grandchildren, Steven and Corey Ray Coston, Josh, Caleb, Hannah, and Daniel Shelburne, Samantha (Angel), Maggie and JW Walsh, Tara (Precious) Scott, Jordan Northcutt, Alison Howard, Benjamin Wilson, Michelle Holder and Kloma Fletcher; extended family, Amber and John Walsh; and brother, Benny Coston and wife, Jenny.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Willie Mae Coston; sister, Dorothy White; and brother, Bill Coston.
