COLEMAN — Cynthia Lynn Philpot, 37, of Santa Anna, died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2007, at a Dallas hospital as a result of a short illness with breast cancer. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at First Baptist Church in Coleman with the Rev. John Stanislaw officiating.

Burial will follow in the Santa Anna Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home of Coleman.

She was born Cynthia Lynn Garrett on May 27, 1970, in Port Lavaca, Texas, a daughter of Bill and Geneva McCown Garrett. She moved with her family to Santa Anna in 1977 where she grew up and attended school, graduating from Santa Anna High School in 1988. On Oct. 20, 1990, she was married to Wayne Philpot in Santa Anna. In 2002 she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanized agriculture from Tarleton State University. Cynthia was currently employed at Farm Credit Bank (formerly Federal Land Bank) in Coleman as an office assistant. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Coleman where she was active in the children’s and youth ministries.

Survivors include her husband, Wayne Philpot of Santa Anna; two daughters, Cassie Philpot and Rylie Philpot, both of Santa Anna; her parents, Bill and Geneva Garrett of Santa Anna; one sister, Charlotte Tucker and husband, Doug, of Santa Anna; an uncle, Leonard McCown and wife, Marge, of Irving; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wallace and Aleen Philpot of Grapevine; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lisa and Steve Jones of Haslet; cousin, Kristi Betts of Irving; four nephews, Dawson Jones, Sawyer Jones, and Hayden and Jacob Springer; and numerous friends.

Family visitation will be held from 7 until 9 p.m. Friday at Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman.
