Funeral services for Robert Curtis Standlee, age 84, of Early, Texas, with military honors will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, 2011, at Heartland Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Locker Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at Heartland Funeral Home.
Robert died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011, at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.
Robert Curtis Standlee was born Feb. 5, 1927, in Locker, Texas, the son of the late Joseph and Sallie Bradley Standlee. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Robert was married to Barbara Anders in Brownwood, Texas, on April 29, 1949. Standlee was a member of Early First Baptist Church since 1995 and served as a deacon of the church. He enjoyed fishing and watching the Dallas Cowboys and had lived in Early since 1973.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Standlee of Early; son, Curtis Eugene Standlee of Nashville, Tenn.; daughter, Deborah Kay Brumit and husband Greg of Waco, Texas; grandchildren, Pamela Jean Moreno and husband Ruben of Waco, Texas, Michael Len Brumit and wife Lisa of Corpus Christi, Texas, Timothy Joseph Brumit and wife Nicole of Carrolton; three great-grandchildren; sister, Judy McCormick and husband Don of Athens, Ga.; sister-in-law, Creta Nell Sallee of Brownwood; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Raymond Standlee.
