Ben G. Box, age 82 of Brownwood, Texas, died Thursday, July 10, 2008, at his home with his love ones by his side.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Sunday, July 13, 2008, at Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park. The family will received friends from 6 to 7 p.m., Saturday, July 12, 2008, at Heartland Funeral Home.
Ben Box was born Feb. 27, 1926, in Erath County, Texas, the son of the late Gaylord and Emma Glover Box. He served in the Calvary and later with the military police. Ben was married to Betty Fiveash on March 6, 1948, in Brownwood. She preceded him in death on Aug. 14, 1987. He worked as a dairyman and farmer for many years. He was a lifelong resident of Brown County.
His survivors include: His companion of 20 years, Billie Holcomb of Brownwood; sons, Ben A. Box and wife Julie of Early, and Rickey Box and wife Tammy also of Early; daughter, Tammie Hill of Early; brothers, O.D. Box of Bangs and Cleburn Box of Sweetwater; sister, Nona Faye Land of Comanche; son-in-law, Tony Mann of Brownwood; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter, Pamela Mann; grandson, Justin Box; and his in-laws, Ed and Agnes Fiveash.
