BURLINGTON, N.C. — Zachary Alan Creech, 39, of Burlington, N.C., died at his residence on Monday, Dec. 17, 2007.
He was born in Pecos County, Texas, on Feb. 18, 1968, and spent his growing up years in Brown County, attending Bangs High School. He also attended Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos. He was the director of advertising at the Burlington Times-News. He was a member of St. Mark’s Church and the Alamance Business Club.
Mr. Creech had come to the Times-News in January 2003 from the Austin-American Statesman, where he was manager of retail sales. Before Austin, he worked at the San Diego Union Tribune, where he was also the retail sales manager. From 1999 to 2001, Creech was the national sales representative for the San Gabriel Valley Tribune in West Covina, Calif.
Survivors include a son, Landon Creech and a daughter, Riley Creech, both of Cumberland, Md.; a fianc/e, Lara Davis of Elon; his mother, Louise Scaff and husband, Barry, of Brownwood; his father, Sidney Creech of Midland, Texas; two sisters, Rebecca Redinger and Natalie Rausch and husband, Tommy, all of Comfort, Texas; two nieces, Kennedy and Emily Rausch; and two nephews, Bo and Michael Redinger of Comfort, Texas.
Rich & Thompson Mortuary in Burlington, N.C. and Schaetter Funeral Home in Comfort were in charge of arrangements. Mr. Creech was laid to rest Dec. 24, 2007, in the Comfort Cemetery with Pastor Jim Holt officiating.
