Funeral services for Marilyn Cornett McCutcheon, 48, of San Angelo , formerly of Rising Star, will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 13, in the Chapel of Heartland Funeral Home of Early. Interment will follow in Bangs Cemetery under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home of Early.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 12, at the funeral home.
Mrs. McCutcheon passed away on Monday, June 11, 2007, in San Angelo.
Marilyn Cornett was born on April 7, 1959, in Santa Anna, a daughter of Floyd E. Cornett and Mabel I Griffin Cornett. She was raised and attended schools in Brownwood and Rising Star, and graduated from Rising Star High School. On April 7, 1990 she married Donald McCutcheon of San Angelo.
Marilyn had worked at the Light House for the Blind in San Angelo for the last 20 years and whether at work or just places she went, she cultivated friendships that will last a lifetime. She loved people, loved life and never met a stranger. She used to joke that she had three children, her two dogs “DJ and Brownie” and her husband Donald. She loved children and had a true passion for music. She had lived in San Angelo since 1986, moving there from Rising Star.
She is survived by her husband, Donald McCutcheon of San Angelo; one sister, Laura Yager of Belton; five brothers, Donald Cornett and wife Carleen of Lake Brownwood, Larry Cornett of Gorman, Freddie Cornett and wife Linda of Blanket, Douglas Cornett of Blanket and David Cornett and wife Jennifer of The Colony, Texas. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, one aunt, and a host of cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Mabel Cornett; one sister, Neva Ann Brown; and three brothers, Vernon Lee Cornett, Wallace Cornett and Edwin Cornett.
