Jack N. Wright, 82, of Abilene, Texas, formerly of Texarkana, Ark., died Tuesday, April 13, 2010, in Abilene.

    Jack was born in Grosvenor on April 24, 1927, to W.S. (Bill) and Lillie Kinney Wright and grew up in Brady. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1945 and later enlisted in the United States Air Force. After 20 years of military service, Jack settled in Kerrville, Texas, working as a mechanic for a water department. Jack and his wife, Zelah, lived in Texarkana, Ark. In 2003 Jack moved to Abilene to live in an assisted living home.

    Jack is survived by three sisters; Wanda Rogers of Kerrville, Nelva Turner and husband Jack of Abilene, Karen Kelly and husband Joe of Siloam Springs, Ark.; one brother, Billy Don Wright and wife Virginia of Brownwood; and numerous nieces and nephews.

    Jack was preceded in death by his wife, parents; and one brother, L.J. Wright.

    Graveside services with military honors, by the United States Air Force, will be held at 10 a.m. today in Athens, Texas. Jack will be laid to rest in Carroll Springs Cemetery, under the direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home, Athens.
