Marvin E. Lee, age 71, of Comanche died Friday afternoon, Oct. 26, at the Western Hills Nursing Home in Comanche
He was born Feb. 25, 1936 in Gorman the son of the late Herbert Allen and Ollie Couch Lee. He graduated from High School in 1954 where he had been very active in sports. He was an all state guard his senior year and also played baseball for several years. He also traveled on the show circuit and showed cattle for several years. He was active in the Texas State Shorthorn Association. Following graduation, he ranched most of his life.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Comanche and formerly a longtime member of the South Leon Baptist Church.
He is survived by Evelyn Lee of Comanche; two daughters, JoAnn Hohertz and husband Wayland of Comanche and Melinda Fishback and husband Lyndell of Comanche; four grandchildren, Thomas Hohertz, Blake Denning, Cordell Fishback, and Ayden Fishback; one brother, Henry Lee and wife Martha of Waxahachie; and two sisters-in-law, Virginia Lee and Tommie Lee.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter Joe Lee and William Lee.
Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29, in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel in Comanche with Ronnie Calcoate and Harold Higginbotham officiating.
Burial will follow in the Newburg Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be John Reese, Darren Peoples, Henry Hughitt, George Womack, Walt Michaels, and Donnie Riewe
Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Pettit, Max Cagle, Phil and Darrell Riewe, Bill Blue, Mark Hopper, and Henry Meyer.
Memorials are requested to be made to the Newburg Cemetery Association. or to Comanche Community Hospice.
