Funeral services for John J. Fedora, 88, of Brownwood, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, in the Davis-Morris Funeral Chapel with Don Greeley officiating. Interment will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Park with military honors.

The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Fedora passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2007, in Brownwood Regional Medical Center.

He was born on Dec. 11, 1918, in Joliet, Ill. John served his country in World War II in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater as an X-ray technician in the 204th Regiment Hospital on the island of Oahu. He married Doris Donahoo on July 24, 1943, in Blanket. She preceded him in death on March 10, 1995.

He was a longtime member of Brady Avenue Church of Christ. John retired from 3M Company as a supervisor in safety and security.

John is survived by two daughters, Tonya Horner and husband, Tommy, of Brownwood and Melody Schoen of Early; a son, Kendal Fedora and wife Karen of River Oaks; six grandchildren, Brant Horner and wife, Suzanne, of San Angelo, Brinn Ball and husband, James, of Knox City, Santana Pettijohn and husband, Randy, of May, Hootie Schoen and wife, Staci, of Brownwood, Kip Fedora and wife, Wendy, of Pryor, Okla., and Krista Fedora of River Oaks; eight great-grandchildren, Emily and Evyn Horner of San Angelo, Avery Ball of Knox City, Colton and Levi Pettijohn of May, Caleb and Carli Schoen of Brownwood and Gabi Fedora of Pryor, Okla.; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Doris; his parents; and a son-in-law, Henry Schoen.
