Melodiese Hardin, age 76, of Georgetown, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008. She was born in Brownwood, Texas on Nov. 2, 1932, to parents William and Era (Nix) Lowry. Melodiese was a member of Brownwood Girls whom she stayed in touch with since her school days. She was also a devoted member of First Baptist Church and Hays Life Group. Melodiese loved to volunteer at the St. David’s Georgetown Hospital.

She enjoyed travelling and doing needlepoint. Melodiese was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gene Hardin, son Patrick Hardin and a sister.

She is survived by her sons, Gene Hardin and wife Vicki of Temple and Lonnie Hardin and wife Lisa of LaGune Niguel, Calif.; daughter, Delissa Keeling and husband Diron of Henly, Texas; grandsons, Jesse Hardin and wife Elizabeth of Frisco, Texas, Ryan Hardin of Fort Worth, Justin Hardin and fiancée Amanda of Houston and Jason King and wife Ginger of Austin; granddaughter, Janette Keeling of Wichita Falls, Texas; and great-grandson, Jacob King of Austin.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m today in the chapel of Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home with Dr. David A. Griffin officiating. Interment will follow at 3 p.m. at the Holy Cross Cemetery in San Antonio. Serving as pallbearers will be Herman Poteet, Dwayne Wash, Rick Hurley, Clark Urban, Bill Norman and Clint McMahon.
