Richland Hills - Louie Edward Franklin, Jr., was born August 5, 1943, in Port Arthur, Texas, and went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, January 8, 2021, at age 77. Louie and Nita were members of Coggin Avenue Baptist Church and First Baptist Church previously while living in Brownwood.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at North Richland Hills Baptist Church, 6955 Blvd 26, N. Richland Hills, Texas, on Saturday, January 23, at 10 a.m. Private interment will be by Greenwood-Mt. Olivet at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Memorials: Those who wish to remember Louie are encouraged to make gifts in his memory to Cornerstone Assistance Network, 3500 Noble Ave., Fort Worth, Texas, 76111.

Louie was preceded in death by his son, John; parents, L.E. and Ella Gene Franklin, Sr.; father-and-mother-in-law, J.D. and Berta Tackett; and brother-in-law, Ken Roddy.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Nita Franklin; son, Joe and daughter-in-law, Cindy Franklin; daughter-in-law, Penny and husband, Alan Finch; grandchildren, Jacob Franklin, Jordan Franklin, and J.P. Franklin; sister, Mary Gene and husband, Glenn Sanderson; sister-in-law, Suzie Roddy; brother-in-law, Charles Tackett and wife, Karen; nieces, Dana Shipp and husband, Gary, Julie Roddy, Tamara Paul and husband, Daniel; nephews, Steve Roddy and wife, Jenni, Tom Tackett and wife, Michelle, David Roddy, Chris Daniell and wife, Stefani, Brian Daniell and wife, Stacey, Matt Daniell and wife Tori; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
