Nancy Jane Williams
Lake Brownwood - Nancy Jane Williams of Lake Brownwood passed away on January 14, 2021. She was born on November 3, 1951 to Wilbur and Zelma Carter in Taylor, TX.
Nancy married her best friend James "Jimmy" Williams on May 20th, 1981 in Brownwood. They were happily married for 31 years until his passing in 2012. Together, they raised 4 children and were members of the Lake Brownwood community for nearly 40 years. They were the proud owners of Boomers' Steakhouse from 1995-1997.
Working in food service for most of her life, she retired from the Texas 4H Camp and Conference Center in Lake Brownwood in 2014 after 17 years. There, she made endless numbers of friends and acquaintances, for whom she was always willing to care for and lend a hand whenever needed. She most enjoyed her time with her friends, family, husband, and children. There was never a road trip too long; she would frequently drive hours roundtrip "just to give you a hug." She believed in loyalty, humility, and kindness and always put others before herself. She was quiet and consistent and made a profound impact on the ones around her.
She is survived by her children, Doug Williams of Dallas; Michael Rae Williams of Tyler; Elias Williams of Stillwater, OK; sister Nina Templeton and husband Larry of Austin; granddaughter Emily Williams; grandson Cy Williams; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends that she considered family as well.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; husband Jimmy; brother Charlie Carter; and son Jacob Williams.
Nancy wished to be cremated and a private family celebration-of-life will be held. In her honor, we encourage everyone to have a cold Dr. Pepper, and take the time to call or go see the ones you love, no matter how far.
