Corlis Gail Horton Stewart
De Leon - Corlis Gail Horton Stewart was born on October 3, 1955, to parents Terrill and Dorothy Horton in Grand Prairie, Texas. Growing up in the middle of five siblings, she enjoyed a childhood filled with love and laughter. She was a graduate of Bangs High School. She married her soulmate, Louis Alvin Stewart, on July 29th, 1980, and spent the whole of their marriage working side-by-side until his passing in 2014. They were the proud owners of La-Tex Associates in De Leon, Texas.
She enjoyed sewing, music, traveling, and above all, she enjoyed spending time with her loved ones. She was a bright, vibrant, friendly light in the lives of many.
She leaves behind her daughter, Amber Stewart Draeger and husband Josh Draeger, of De Leon, Texas, and daughter-in-law Margurite Stewart of Stephenville, Texas; grandchildren, Megan Miller, Brandon Stewart, Conner Stewart, and Logan Draeger; siblings Geneva Horton of Apache Junction, Arizona, Terry LaFon and husband Tommy of Bluff Dale, Texas, Travis Horton and wife Sharon of Colorado, Janie Pruitt and husband Wayne of Rising Star, Texas, and Johnny Horton and wife Mary of Fort Worth, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Louis Alvin Stewart, her son, Clinton Allen Stewart, and her parents, Terrill Horton and Dorothy Smith Horton.
A celebration of life will be held Thursday, July 22, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Nowlin Anders Funeral Home with Rev. John Woodard officiating. Graveside services will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Comanche. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Foster's Home for Children at 1779 N.
