Chad Anderson

Brownwood - Chad Wayne Anderson, age 67, of Brownwood passed away on Friday, December 31, 2021, after a lengthy illness.

Funeral Services for Chad will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Artie Woodcox officiating; burial will follow at the Ebony Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood. The family is requesting masks to be worn to the visitation and funeral please.

Chad was born on June 30, 1954, to C.W. and Nerissa (Romine) Anderson in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Chad was raised in Midland and graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in Sociology. While attending Tech, he met his wife, Kathy McCutchen Anderson, and they were married in 1973. During his college years, Chad worked as a policeman to put himself through school.

In 1979, the couple moved to the Brownwood area where they pursued ranching as a vocation. Chad loved the ranching lifestyle and continued to run livestock for 42 years until his illness. Chad also had another calling; he earned a second degree from Liberty University in Theology and was a minister to several rural churches in the area. After his ministry, Chad was a member, deacon, and Sunday School teacher at Calvary Baptist Church. He was a 32nd degree Mason and belonged to the Goldthwaite and Mullin lodges.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Anderson of Brownwood; son, Clayton Anderson and wife Courtney of Evant; his grandchildren, Brody Anderson, Emily Anderson, Collins Anderson, and Cora Biddy; his sisters-in-law, Janice Anderson, Rhea Irish and husband Mike Irish; nephews and nieces: Cody Anderson and wife JoAnn, Toby Anderson and wife Ashley, Brandie Commiato and husband Garry, Patrick Irish and wife Jennifer, Becky Kerby and husband David; and many great-nieces and nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, C. W. and Nerissa Anderson of Midland; and his brother, Charles W. Anderson of Georgetown.
