Temple - Caryl Jones Connaway was born on October 6, 1942 in Lawton Oklahoma. She passed away on January 9, 2022 in Temple at the age of 79 years, 3 months, 3 days. She was born to Jackson and Lorraine Jones, and the sister of Jackson Jr, Jim and Larry.

Caryl grew up on Harbor Island, graduating from Aransas Pass High School. Following graduation she attended North Texas State University (UNT) in Denton, TX. There she met Morris Joe Connaway from Brownwood, TX, and they married in 1962. They had three children, Laurie, Wesley and Ellen.

Caryl was preceded in death by her husband Morris Joe, her parents Jackson and Lorraine, her brothers Jackson Jr, and Jim. She is survived by her children Laurie (Oscar) Belton, TX; Wesley (Deb), Allen, TX; Ellen, Lago Vista, TX; her granddaughter Victoria (Jacob), Tomball, TX; two step-grandchildren, Jonathan and Jason, Allen, TX; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

A service will be held at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Temple, TX on Saturday, January 15 at 11 a.m. Inurnment will be in Brownwood, TX at a later date. Memorials in her memory may be given to the Humane Society of Central Texas.
